Fightstar

Fightstar front man Charlie Simpson walked out of the hugely successful English pop-punk band Busted in 2005 to concentrate on his progressive post-hardcore band Fightstar, winning over legions of rock fans in the process. They have since recorded and released an EP and three full-length albums, Grand Unification (Island 2005), One Day Son, This Will All Be Yours (Gut 2007) and Be Human (Search & Destroy 2009).

The recording of Be Human was self-funded and saw the band collaborating with renowned arranger Audrey Riley (Coldplay, Muse), featuring a 22-piece string section recorded at the George Martin’s legendary Air studios. Released in April 2009, the album achieved a Top 20 chart position, becoming their most successful release to date. A deluxe version of the album, repackaged with a DVD of ‘Fightstar: Unplugged at the PictureDrome’ was released in Feb 2010.

2009 saw the band draw huge crowds at legendary U.K. rock festivals Download and Reading/Leeds, and complete their biggest headline tour to date in October and November, including sold out shows at Glasgow ABC and London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. The band were on the road again in February 2010, this time playing sold out club shows in Germany, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris.
